Providing Relief to the West Australian Community

The Scottish Masonic Charitable Foundation of Western Australia Inc (SMCFWA) was established by the District Grand Lodge of Western Australia to help provide relief to those in need within our community. The Foundation is supported by voluntary contributions from Scottish Freemasons and Friends of the Foundation.

The Foundation aims to provide financial & nonfinancial support to charitable/not-for-profit community organisations within our State.

Some of the organisations we have supported to date are:

Red Sky Ride - supporting Bro. Shane White and the Red Sky Ride team to raise funds for Solaris Care, who provide support to individuals and families touched by cancer.
Riding for the Disabled Association Brigadoon Centre - RDA Brigadoon provides therapeutic equestrian activities for people with disabilities and special needs.
Asbestos Diseases Society of Australia - ADS provides counselling and support to those who develop asbestos-related diseases and their families.

The Foundation at the discretion of the Board of Directors allocates up to $78,000 per annum to worthwhile causes within our community. For more information about how you can apply for funding please click here.

	July 2010 Newsletter available Friday 23 July 2010 The first edition of the Scottish Masonic Charitable Foundation of WA (SMCFWA) newsletter is back from the printers and now available. Hard copies will be forwarded to Scottish Masonic Lodges and members over the next week. The newsletter is also available to download from this website. Read more >>> Community Grants recipients announced Friday 23 July 2010 The Scottish Masonic Charitable Foundation of WA (SMCFWA) recently awarded over $50,000 to local community and charitable organisations through the first round of its Community Grants Program. Seven local community and charitable organisations from around Western Australia, with a focus on men's health and youth support & development were awarded grants of up to $10,000 each. These organisations are: CanTeen The Smith Family Surf Life Saving WA Autism West WA Deal Society Riding for the Disabled Association Brigadoon WA Men's Shed Association Read more >>> Red Sky Ride 2010 Thursday 6 April 2010 We are proud to announce that the 2010 Red Sky Ride has raised $300,000.00 to help the SolarisCare Foundation in the provision of much needed support services to those who have been diagnosed with cancer. The SolarisCare support centres offer both physical and emotional support to those who have been diagnosed with cancer and their families, the centres help provide that much needed quality of life for all affected by the diagnosis.
