The Scottish Masonic Charitable Foundation of WA was proud to be involved with Lodge St John Sportsmen in hosting the 2009 Gala Charity Ball which was held once again in support of the Asbestos Diseases Society (ADS). This event was a great success and raised of $22,000.00 to assit ADS with the provision of counselling and support services to those who develop asbestos-related diseases and their families.

The organisation is non-profit and charges only a nominal membership fee to its members. Except for a small annual grant courtesy of the West Australian Government, it is largely reliant on fund raising activities and the public's support for its operating revenue. The money raised by those attending the ball will this year go towards helping provide new equipment for the onsite doctor to assist in the diagnosis of Asbestos-related diseases.
