The Scottish Masonic Charitable Foundation of WA is proud to sponsor the "Mountains High Jersey" for Red Sky Ride which is committed to raising $1million over a 5 year period for the SolarisCare Foundation.
The Red Sky Ride not only tests the endurance and commitment of the riders but it also helps to increase the awareness in the wider community of the SolarisCare Foundation - Cancer Support Centres and the importance, of physical and emotional wellbeing and the link to quality of life.
Now in its 3rd year Red Sky Ride have raised $750,000.00 for the SolarisCare Foundation Cancer Support Centres. These funds will help to assist SolarisCare in achieving their goals and supporting those diagnosed with cancer and their families.
Red Sky Ride participants including our own director Shane White are all dedicated to the ride and make a major commitment to the event. Juggling careers, business and families in order to help make a difference in the lives of others. Riders commit to:
- Paying $1500 each to cover direct costs
- Making time available to meet the training and fitness requirements for the ride
- Participating in fundraising and publicity events - raising $5,000 each for the cause
- Maintaining and supporting a high standard of behaviours and consistent message delivery
- Taking the required time off work
- Achieving all this whilst maintaining their own personal commitments
The Red Sky Riders are supported by a dedicated team including a cycling coach, exercise physiologist and a nutritionist.
Each year the ride is dedicated to someone special who has lost their fight with Cancer, the 2010 ride was dedicated to the memory of Sarah Jane Mitchell.
