"The Scottish Masonic Charitable Foundation of Western Australia Inc (SMCFWA) aims to make a positive contribution to the West Australian Community by supporting charitable & community organisations that promote the values of Scottish Freemasonry in their work towards finding solutions for those in need or improving the quality of community life."

Key priority areas for 2010/2011:

The Scottish Masonic Charitable Foundation of WA (SMCFWA) will consider applications from all organisations however, priority will be given to organisations whose activities/project focuses on the foundations priority areas of:

  • Men's Health
Despite the fact that there is a higher mortality rate for men than women, men are still more reluctant to seek medical advice and quite often shrug off any feeling of being unwell. In todays society were families often rely on two incomes the premature death of a husband and father can exact a greater emotional and economic toll on their family, this is quite often preventable if only they would take the time to look after themselves as well as their family.

The leading causes of premature death among males are ischaemic heart disease (including angina, blocked arteries of the heart and heart attacks), suicide, strokes, accidents and lung cancer.

The Foundation aims to work with organisations to promote the importance of men looking after themselves and having regular check ups.
  • Youth Services
Young people are the future of our community so we should ensure we are doing all we can to support, educate and enrich their lives.

As if growing up was not hard enough, there is now so much pressure put on young people in todays society to conform to the ideals whether it be appearance, ability or academic achievement. All of this can lead to feelings of self doubt, low self esteem and depression.

The Foundation aims to work with organisations that provide services and activities for the youth of our community providing them with support, guidance and improved self esteem.

All decisions are made at the complete discretion of the Board of Directors. Reasons for rejection of proposals will not necessarily be given.

To assist us in making a difference in the WA community we have developed a range of relief programs:

Each program is designed to make a positive impact on society while giving the Scottish Masonic community an opportunity to be involved.
